Hey, I'm Jocelyn!

I am a BFA graduate from the University of Alabama with concentrations in painting and printmaking. A common theme I explore throughout my work is the representation of family, and more specifically the unique relationship I have with my not-so-perfect family. I am a figurative painter, employing the use of personal symbols that are relatively incomprehensible to outsiders. With that in mind, I welcome viewers the experience of struggling to make sense of troubled relationships with those we are supposed to love.

I am honored be a recipient of the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation grant in December of 2021. This was to aid in the completion of my Bachelor's degree. I am invested in applying in the future when the need arises.

Postbaccalaureate, I will be employed at the Gadsden Museum of Art and History, as their Gallery Coordinator. I look forward to this opportunity in expanding my knowledge of the handling and installation of art as well as researching other contemporary artists.
