Some perks of my 2020

Hi! What I've come to acknowledge this year is that I need to take everything with a grain of salt. Also, to look at the positives better than I have before. With Covid-19 uprooting the normal functions of all lives, here is a list of a few positive things that have happened to me, or that I've noticed!

- I moved out of my old apartment and into a newer one with a pool that's closer to my friends!

- I repainted and redecorated my room back home (surprise, it's gray!)

- I got to spend part of my spring semester with my sister, who goes to Michigan State University (I go to Bama)

- I finished my spring semester (while working at CVS) with a 4.0

- My skin started to get better--ironically, thanks to the required face masks!

- I got to experience the nice-er side of people while working during the pandemic

- I quit working at CVS

- I was rehired for my gallery job this fall semester

- I got to help out more with the gallery show than I did last year!

- I am taking two painting classes and really love it!

- I fit into a pair of pants that were tight on me last year (no quarantine quince!)

- I grew closer to one of my best friends

- My roommates are the sweetest people

- I am painting my first commission piece for someone I do not know

- I got 3 new plants and have not killed them yet, bringing me to a total of 5 very alive plants!

- and to end this (for now) the weather in Alabama is just beautiful in the fall and I am so glad to be back on campus!

As much as everyone is quick to say "F-- 2020," so far, I really do not have much to complain about. I guess I am lucky in the sense that I am healthy and my family is healthy. But, with the disaster of multiple events that occurred this past year, I can't help but see the things I'm given as a gift. I think it is important to look at the positives and focus on the positives.
